Robbie Williams could be heading back to the top of the Official Albums Chart for the 12th time of his career as a solo artist.

Robbie's latest studio album The Heavy Entertainment Show has taken a comfortable lead in today’s update, setting him on course for chart glory this Friday (November 11). Only two other solo artists have achieved more Number 1 albums that Robbie Williams, Elvis Presley (13) and Madonna (12).

Elvis bagged his 13th chart topper just two weeks ago with his second Royal Philarmonic Orchestra collaboration Wonder of You, while Robbie will equal Madonna's tally of 12 should he hang on by Friday.

9 of Robbie's 10 previous studio albums have reached Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, in addition to two greatest hits compilations, making him the most successful British solo artist in Official Albums Chart history. Click here to view Robbie's complete UK singles and albums chart history.

The hottest competition that Robbie has this week comes from Michael Ball & Alfie Boe. Their first collaborative record Together is Number 2 at today's midweek stage. Bon Jovi's thirteenth studio album This House Is Not for Sale is also performing well, and is projected to finish at Number 3.

New entries and high climbers

With Christmas fast approaching, Michael Buble's Christmas is set to make a return to the Top 10; a rise of eight places to Number 8 is on the cards for Michael.

Alicia Keys' seventh Top 20 album is on the horizon with Here at 17, just ahead of Queen's On Air compilation at 18. Also new is Russell Watson's True Stories - the tenor is new at 23 in the latest sales flash.

Two more new entries are expected to impact this week's Top 40. Babes Never Die by Scottish duo Honeyblood is on track for Number 33 while US country act Lambchop are heading for Number 34 with FLOTUS.
