Rihanna, One Direction, Westlife and The Saturdays go head-to-head!

November 21 is shaping up to be this autumn season’s 'Manic Monday', with a four-way battle to the top the Official Albums Chart heating up.

On what looks set to possibly the most competitive week of the year, Rihanna, One Direction, Westlife and The Saturdays will all be vying for chart dominance.

While Rihanna and The Saturdays will be offering new studio albums, One Direction will make their album debut, while chart record-holders Westlife herald their latest Greatest Hits package. If that wasn’t enough, also out on the same day will be the latest Now! compilation (volume 80), plus new albums from Kate Bush, Charlene Soraia and Nickelback.

'Manic Monday' is the highlight of a jam-packed two months of releases, leading up to Christmas week – traditionally the biggest week for album sales in the annual calendar.

The Official Charts Company has compiled an ‘Autumn Albums Ready Reckoner’, showing the biggest releases for the next eight weeks. For many, this release schedule will provide a handy list of Christmas present options.

For mums and aunties, there are new albums from Take That, Susan Boyle, Andre Rieu, Michael Buble and Il Divo, for uncles and dads there are titles from the likes of Nickelback, Metallica, Manic Street Preachers and Snow Patrol – and for their kids the likes of The Wanted, Olly Murs, Professor Green, Cher Lloyd, Pixie Lott, JLS, Rihanna, The Saturdays and Rebecca Ferguson.

With only 10 places available in the top 10 every week (even Christmas week!), some albums are sure to lose out.
