Last call, pitches. The final instalment in the Pitch Perfect franchise is hoping to add a cherry on top of its finale on the Official Video Chart.
Pitch Perfect 3 starring Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Hailee Steinfeld is leading today's Official Video Chart Update, a midweek glance at how Sunday's final DVD and Blu-ray chart may look.
Having shifted 38,000 units at the midweek stage, the musical-comedy has a lead of 8,000 copies over its closest rival, the leader on the chart for the past fortnight, Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2).
Should the movie hold on, it will be the second PP film to top the Official Video Chart; Pitch Perfect 2 landed at the top spot in its debut week in late 2015 with sales of 127,000.
Elsewhere in the Top 5, last week's runner-up Ferdinand drops a spot to Number 3, a box set of all three Pitch Perfect movies is at Number 4, and 2018 chart mainstay Paddington 2 slides two to Number 5.
New entries and high climbers
Price slashed across multiple retailers, Deadpool rises 28 places to Number 8 in the run-up to the cinematic release of its sequel, while IT also gains ground following a promotion, scaling 27 positions to Number 11.
Matt Damon's Suburbicon is a new midweek entry at Number 13, ahead of crime thriller Looking Glass starring Nicholas Cage (18). Canadian horror thriller is also set to impact the Top 40, currently at 21.
Finally, Grease returns to the Top 40 at Number 24 following its release in 4K quality to celebrate the iconic musical movie's 40th anniversary.
