Pet Shop Boys return with video for new single Vocal

The disco-friendly duo’s new album Electric is out in July.

Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe – Pet Shop Boys to you and me – have been notching up hits on the Official Singles Chart for almost 30 years and it looks like they’re not done yet. The presidents of pop have just unleashed the video for their new single Vocal.

The track is available to download now and hot on its heels comes an album Electric, which drops on 15 July.

Pet Shop Boys' first chart hit was also their first Official Singles Chart Number 1. West End Girls hit the top spot in November 1985 and stayed there for two weeks (or a ‘fortnight’ as Neil and Chris would probably say).

The tuneful twosome have had 45 Official Singles Chart Top 40 hits, which is quite a lot when you think about it, really, isn’t it? Will Vocal be the 46th?

After West End Girls, they went on to have three further Number 1s: It’s A Sin, Always On My Mind – a danced-up cover of the Elvis Presley classic – and Heart all reached the summit in 1987.
