Pacific Rim: Uprising set for highest new entry on the Official Video Chart

Last week, Peter Rabbit became only the 7th DVD to shift over 200,000 in its first week on sale in 2018.

In today's midweek glance at DVD and Blu-ray sales in the UK, Pacific Rim: Uprising is set to become this week's highest new entry.

Sales after three days of availability for the science-fiction flick stand at 32,000, earning it the Number 2 position in today's Official Chart Update. Last week's Number 1 Peter Rabbit is set for another week on top, having shifted 55,000 units since Monday.

Should Pacific Rim: Uprising stick to its Number 2 slot, it will match the peak reached by its predecessor in November 2013.

Elsewhere in this week's Top 5, former chart-toppers The Greatest Showman (3), Tomb Raider (4), and Thor: Ragnarok (5) all drop one placing.

New entries and high climbers

Three more new entries are hoping to impact this week's Top 40. Disney's A Wrinkle In Time starring Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon starts at Number 6, Complete Series Four of Poldark charges to 21, and Of Gods and Warriors is aiming for Number 31.

Finally, with Mission: Impossible - Fallout in cinemas now, a box set for the previous five instalments in the franchise scales 11 places to Number 24.
