Olly Murs has seen off some major competition on this week's Official Albums Chart to score his fourth Number 1 album.

The singer's fifth studio album 24 HRS sold 58,000 across physical, digital and streaming to net his fourth consecutive Number 1 album. Olly's only album to miss the top spot was his debut, self-titled offering which peaked at Number 2. View Olly Murs' complete UK singles and albums chart history here.

Olly told OfficialCharts.com: "So excited and happy to have 24 HRS go in at Number 1. It’s the most personal album I’ve ever made, and I’m really proud of it. It’s an amazing achievement for me to have had four Number 1 Albums in a row so thanks to my fans for continuing to support me!"

Olly now joins One Direction with four Number 1 albums, making him the joint most successful X Factor act on the Official Albums Chart.

Michael Ball and Alfie Boe perform well yet again this week; their collection Together drops one place to 3, just ahead of Cliff Richard, who scores his 44th Top 10 album with Just... Fabulous Rock 'n' Roll (4).

Nothing against Olly but I was hoping Emeli would go to No.1, she deserved it more, her album was better imo. Hopefully it will go to No.1 soon, maybe if she has a big moment at the Brit Awards next year.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great week in the Album chart! My granddad died today so at least there's still some positives! So happy he nailed it. People underestimate his album success, don't they?

i'm so sorry about your grandfather :(. well, this is the 1st time i've heard of olly murs, i don't think he's done anything here in the states.

Oh, he had two Hot 100 hits, one of those (Troublemaker) did pretty well

Olly Murs is my favourite singer. He never really cracked the US besides Troublemaker which I previously mentioned (which of course was only big in the States due to Flo Rida) but he's big in the UK, four number 1 albums and four number 1 singles. The singles from 24HRS have criminally underperformed though

yeah i've never heard of him. myself and piran always discuss what's going on in the u.s. and uk music scenes. i can't get over how many uk artists i've personally never heard of. so, do you have all of olly's albums?

i'll have to double check with piran...i might've seen 'troublemaker' on the chart, but didn't know who olly murs might be.

Troublemaker hit the top 20 in the US back in 2012, he is very unfairly considered a one hit wonder in the US

Not really well for Nathan, he had two top 40 hits which dropped out quickly, Zayn smashed with Pillowtalk but his album and subsequent singles didn't do too well and Niall had a top 10 hit with the god awful This Town

really? well, nathan has had a struggle over here *it's never easy for international artists to compete with the u.s. artists*. so zayn has only 1 top 10 hit in the uk? same over here, his lead single did debut @ #1, but he hasn't been able to crack the top 40 afterwards. niall, i believe peaked @ #25 over here...he's supposed to perform @ the upcoming american music awards. well, i sure wish all 3 the best. :)

nathan? from what i know he did chart on the bubbling under hot 100 chart *those are the entries #101-125* but not able to crack the mainstream hot 100 chart. i think he did better on the dance charts and possibly the pop singles chart.
