Olly Murs on course for Number 1?

Olly Murs looks set to overtake the 2011 X Factor finalists to top the Official Singles Chart this Sunday (December 11).

Murs’ track ‘Dance With Me Tonight’, which lost out to Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ two weeks ago, was just 1,600 copies behind the X Factor finalists’ cover ‘Wishing On A Star’ in Wednesday’s Official Chart Update. However according to this morning’s sales data (Friday, December 9), the Official Charts Company can confirm that Murs is ahead by 775 copies. But can he maintain his lead going into the weekend?

Over on the Official Albums Chart, Amy Winehouse’s posthumous release, ‘Lioness: Hidden Treasures’ looks set to be Number 1 this Sunday, while Michael Buble’s 'Christmas' album is likely to be Number 2, and Rebecca Ferguson’s debut release, ‘Heaven’ is currently at Number 3.
