OfficialCharts.com & BBC Radio 1 support the Student Radio Awards 2013

Together with BBC Radio 1, OfficialCharts.com will be supporting the Best Student Chart Show category at tonight’s Student Radio Awards.

OfficialCharts.com are excited to be involved with tonight’s Student Radio Awards at the IndigO2 at London’s O2 Arena.  And we’ve got a surprise for the winners of the Best Student Chart Show category.

The Student Radio Awards are the definitive celebration of student radio, the proven breeding ground for so many of the stars of today’s UK radio industry. The likes of Radio 1’s Official Chart Update host Scott Mills, Kevin Greening, Simon Mayo and Alex Zane have all risen through the ranks of the world’s finest media institutions from their humble beginnings as enthusiastic student radio geekoids. Hurray, we say!

And now, for the first time this year, along with the lovely folk over at BBC Radio 1, OfficialCharts.com are supporting the Best Student Chart Show category. The winner of this year’s Best Student Chart Show will lay their hands on what can only be described as one bulky, and truly enviable package (Robin Thicke looks on jealously). 

The winner will have Radio 1’s very own Scott Mills travelling to their university to guest present their student chart show, as well as work experience here at Official Charts HQ to learn all about how the real, 100% official, Official UK Charts are made, but there’s no time for slacking as they’ll also be lending a hand producing content for OfficialCharts.com, too.

And that’s not all…there’s one final bit of the prize too, but we’re not telling just yet. All will be revealed on stage tonight by BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart Show lovely Jameela Jamil and Scott Mills himself, at the Student Radio Awards 2013.
