Official Albums Chart Update: Rihanna steams ahead of One Direction an

In a huge week of key pop album releases, it is Rihanna who sets up camp at the peak of today’s Official Albums Chart Update.

Going head to head with One Direction and Westlife, the Barbadian singer continues her run of form to show the boybanders whose boss with sixth studio album ‘Talk That Talk’. An Official Albums Chart Number 1 for Rihanna this Sunday would mean a hat trick of chart-topping albums for RiRi, having scored Number 1s previously with ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ (2007) and ‘Loud’ (2010).

One Direction’s long-awaited debut, ‘Up All Night’, enters today at Number 2, with Westlife’s ‘Greatest Hits’ in third place. A glance at the highest new entries in today’s Official Albums Chart Update sees the return of Kate Bush with new album ‘50 Words For Snow’ (5), Nickelback’s ‘Here and Now’ (9), and The Saturday’s ‘On Your Radar’ (15).
