Nico & Vinz on course for UK Number 1 single with Am I Wrong

Am I Wrong from Norwegian singing/songwriting duo, Nico & Vinz, last month became the first track in history to reach the Official Singles Chart Top 75 based on streams alone and has continued on a week by week ascent ever since. Its full sales release this week sees the track bound 51 places northward, to debut inside the Top 40 in pole position midweek.

The Afrobeat-pop track has already found success across the globe, entering the Top 10 in 19 countries including America, Australia and Germany.

Meanwhile, OneRepublic are heading for their sixth UK Top 40 hit this Sunday with Love Runs Out, which is currently at Number 3 on today’s Update. The song follows up Counting Stars, which reached Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart last year and has yet to leave the Top 75.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, George Ezra’s Budapest climbs a place to Number 5, ZHU slips four places to Number 7 with Faded, and will.i.am and Cody Wise complete the Top 10 with It’s My Birthday.

New Entries

In addition to Nico & Vinz’s Am I Wrong (Number 1) and OneRepublic’s Love Runs Out (3), there are two new entries on this week’s Official Singles Chart Update.

Jessie Ware is on course for her first ever Top 40 single this weekend with Tough Love at Number 22, and Maroon 5 climb 26 places to Number 25 with It Was Always You. It Was Always You is lifted from the group's upcoming fifth studio album, V, which will be released in the UK on September 1.
