Newton Faulkner "I wrote my Number 1 album in my pants"

Newton Faulkner tells OfficialCharts.com about the oh so harsh realities of writing his chart topping album, Write It On Your Skin. Watch the video interview!

Newton Faulkner, who debuted at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart on Sunday (July 15) with his third album, Write It On Your Skin, tells OfficialCharts.com that the sessions for the record were so relaxed, he wrote much of it wearing nothing but his pants!

Newton also reveals that many of his fans are metalheads who wouldn't admit to their mates that they secretly love his music, "I find reluctant fans are often hardcore metal heads. They’re like ‘I listen to Pantera and I listen to loads of hardcore death metal yet I really like what you do and I have to listen to it on headphones, with the door closed, in a cupboard. Because if anybody finds me, I will get beaten up by all my friends.’ Which is hilarious. I think what it is is that they are just into guitar but they don’t realise they’re into guitar, metal is after all probably the most technical bit of guitar land.”
