Muse and Emeli Sande win big at the Q Awards 2012

OfficialCharts.com caught up with Example, Muse, Emeli Sande, Mutya Keisha Siobhan and Stooshe on the red carpet at the Q Awards.

Q magazine’s annual awards ceremony took place at the Grosvenor House hotel on London’s Park Lane this afternoon (Monday, October 22) and OfficialCharts.com were on hand to capture all the action.

Among the big winners were Blur who picked up the award for best live act. Emeli Sande’s fantastic year continued as she picked up the best solo artist award pipping Noel Gallagher and Adele to the prize, while Devonshire trio Muse were presented with the Best Act in the World Today by none other than Kylie Minogue!

Plan B celebrated his birthday in style receiving the award for best track for the eponymous theme song to his controversial film directorial debut, Ill Manors. Pulp won the Q Inspiration Award, The Smiths' guitar legend Johnny Marr was honoured as Q Hero and Olympic Opening Ceremony sonic architects Underworld were awarded Q Innovation In Sound Award.

A string of great albums announced fantastic new talent on the scene. And amazing comeback shows from Blur and Stone Roses showed the enduring appeal of our best-loved musicians.”
