MTV VMAs 2015: Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Beyonce lead the nominations

Plus Mark Ronson, Nicki Minaj and Kendrick Lamar all pick up nods in multiple categories.

Taylor Swift's incredible year just got ever better as she picks up nine nominations for this year's MTV Video Music Awards. 

One of the superstar's multiple nods includes the coveted Video of the Year for Bad Blood, which will go head-to-head with Kendrick Lamar's Alright, Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson's Uptown Funk, Beyoncé's 7/11, and Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran.

Bad Blood also receives nominations for Best Director, Best Collaboration, Art Direction, Visual Effects, Cinematography and Best Editing, while her Black Space visual is up for Best Female Video and Best Pop Video. 

Meanwhile, Ed follows with six nominations; for prizes including Best Pop Video, Best Male Video and Best Cinematography - all for his chart-topping single Thinking Out Loud. 

Elsewhere, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Fetty Wap and Hozier are all up for multiple awards. 

Fans will be able to begin voting for their favourite artists today (July 21), with the ceremony itself taking place on August 30 at Los Angeles' Microsoft Center. 

Miley Cyrus has been confirmed to host this years awards, quipping on Twitter that she is presenting because "MTV won't let me perform".
