Miley Cyrus' comeback single Malibu lands at Number 1 on this week's Official Trending Chart.

The singer's brand new track has made a big impact in the UK since its release last Friday (May 12) and is expected to make a strong start on this week's Official Singles Chart, currently at Number 7 on the latest Official Chart Update.

Malibu is Miley's first headline single since 2013's Adore You, which reached Number 27 in the UK. In 2014 she reached Number 2 as a guest feature on will.i.am and Wiz Khalifa's Feelin' Myself. Check out Miley's full Official UK Chart history here.

Official Charts has also counted down Miley's Top 10 singles in the UK, looking at her top sellers and most streamed tracks.

Back on the Official Trending Chart, Jonas Blue's latest single Mama featuring YouTube star William Singe is making strides and is set for a sizeable climb into the Official Singles Chart Top 20 this Friday (May 19), currently up 13 places to 16. The track is the British producer's fourth consecutive UK Top 40 hit.

Rising star Maggie Lindemann is also making waves this week with her song Pretty Girl. The US singer-songwriter has seen her moody R&B  track take off with the help of a dance floor-tailored remix by production trio Cheat Codes and CADE.

Further down this week's Official Trending Chart, Harry Styles' Sweet Creature sees a boost following the release of his Number 1-bound self-titled debut album, and Don't Kill My Vibe by Norwegian singer Sigrid features following what is looking to be hefty vault up the Official Singles Chart this week.

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart was launched in 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 single One Dance by Drake, and The Chainsmokers & Halsey's chart topper Closer.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
