Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back as agents J and K for the third instalment of the hugely successful Men In Black franchise. And just like its 1997 and 2002 predecessors, it’s gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart!
Series 3 of the award winning ITV costume drama Downton Abbey is a new entry at Number 2, while Series 2 of BBC comedy Mrs Browns Boys enjoys another week in the top five, moving up on place to Number 3.
The London 2012 Olympic Games slips three places to Number 4, while Ridley Scott’s sci-fi epic, Prometheus is a non-mover at Number 5.
The fifth series of Mad Men enters this week’s Official Video Chart at Number 6. The re-release of Disney’s Peter Pan follows two places behind at Number 8.
The Winchester brothers are still on the hunt for ghostly goings on in the seventh season of the haunting Supernatural which debuts at Number 9. Hailed as a significant milestone in the digital revolution of cinema, Tom Hanks’ 2004 film, The Polar Express re-enters the Official Video Chart at Number 16.
The Men In Black make their second appearance in the Official Video Chart Top 40 video chart with the box set of all three blockbuster movies entering at Number 25. Downton Abbey also pops up again, with the bumper box set of all three series and the Christmas special debuting at Number 27.
This week’s new entries are completed by Killer Joe (28), Katy Perry: Part of Me (32) and A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas (39).
