Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ Thrift Shop is heading towards Number 1! Plus: We reveal this week’s Official Singles Chart Update Top 40 in full.

Macklemore and Ryan LewisThrift Shop FT Wanz continues its ascent up the Official Singles Chart, and looks set to ring in at Number 1 on Sunday.

While the American trio have been out ‘popping tags’, the British public have been busy downloading their ode to second-hand clothes in their thousands! As of midnight last night, Official Charts Company sales data shows that nearly 100,000 copies of Thrift Shop has been downloaded since it made its debut in the Top 40 three weeks ago.

Having already topped the charts in Australia, New Zealand and the US’s Billboard Hot 100 and with a hilarious video to boot, Macklemore et al could very well be rocking your granddad’s plaid button-up shirt and your mammy’s flannel zebra jammies all the way to the top of the UK’s Official Singles Chart, too.

British duos Disclosure and AlunaGeorge (the latter were nominated for the 2013 BRITs Critics’ Choice Award) have joined forces on White Noise, leaping 26 places to Number 2 midweek and putting each act on track to bag their highest charting hit to date.

Emeli Sande’s Clown (3) climbs five places, while reigning chart toppers, Bingo Players and Far East Movement’s Get Up (Rattle) is down three to Number 4 after two weeks at the top.

Recently re-united rockers Fall Out Boy are on course for their first Top 5 hit since 2007 smash, This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race. My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (5)– the band’s first new material since going on hiatus in 2009 – was released on Monday to coincide with the news that Fall Out Boy will be playing this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals.

High Climbers

In addition to Disclosure FT AlunaGeorge’s White Noise (2), there are three other high climbers on this week’s Official Singles Chart Update.

One Direction’s Ed Sheeran-penned former Number 1, Little Things, is up 23 places and re-enters the Official Singles Chart Update Top 40 at Number 30, while The Fray’s 2007 single, How To Save A Life, also looks set to re-enter the Top 40 on Sunday, climbing 22 to Number 35.

Little Mix’s Change Your Life is up 19 places to Number 12 to give the 2011 X Factor winners their fourth Top 20 single in a row, while Lawson’s Learn To Love Again yoyos from Number 20 to Number 13 in its third week on the Official Singles Chart Top 40.
