Congratulations to Lukas Graham, who top this week’s Official Singles Chart with 7 Years.

The Danish quartet’s debut UK release climbs five places to claim the top spot, racking up combined sales of 105,000, including 3.65 million streams.

Not many Danish acts have reached the top of the Official Singles Chart in its 64-year history; the last to manage it was Aqua’s Turn Back Time in May 1998 (Aqua’s lead singer Lene Nystrøm is in fact Norwegian, but the band were signed to a Danish record label). Before that, it was Whigfield’s Saturday Night, which debuted at Number 1 September 1994.

7 Years also receives a Silver certification from music trade body the BPI today, for reaching overall combined sales of more than 200,000.

Thought now that the chart is on a Friday it be kept in same time slot and not be messed about like it was on various Sundays during the year! Clearly doesn't seem to be the case! Time Radio 2 took this on.

I don't think the Radio 2 audience would appreciate the chart. I cannot imagine Fetty Wap or Stormzy being played on Radio 2, for example!

Yes but same could be said of a number of hits during an average year as regards to Radio 1 audience! Remember Robbie Williams last #1? I believe got hardly any play on Radio 1. Just think Radio 2 has the biggest listening audience and thus probably the widest you likely to get on a BBC channel.
