Lana Del Rey’s major label debut Born To Die fends off a tidal wave of new releases to today spend its second week at the top of the Official Albums Chart.  The US songstress this week beats off competition from Maverick Sabre (2) and Paul McCartney (3) to maintain her reign at the top by 16,000 copies.

Maverick Sabre’s debut studio album Lonely Are The Brave takes second prize in the albums race.  The Anglo-Irish singer who has previously collaborated with the likes of electronic duo Chase & Status and fellow Hackney-born rapper Professor Green, lands at Number 2.  The album features previous singles Let Me Go and I Need.

Theofficialcharts.com caught up with Maverick this week to talk about his album and forthcoming tour.  Check out the video below:

Paul McCartney’s Kisses On The Bottom today lands at Number Three becoming the highest charting non-Beatles album for nearly 15 years.  Kisses On The Bottom is the 16th solo studio album by The Beatles superstar, and his first since 2007's Memory Almost Full.  Macca’s last Top 3 solo album was 1997’s Flaming Pie which reached Number 2.

Van Halen’s 12th studio album A Different Kind Of Truth ends its first week at Number 6. A Different Kind Of Truth is Van Halen’s first studio album since reuniting with lead vocalist David Lee Roth in 2006.

Young Guns’ new release Bones, the follow up to debut album All Our Kings Are Dead, scores a first Top 20 album for the High Wycombe rockers. Theofficialcharts.com spoke to Young Guns frontman Gustav Wood backstage at their gig at London’s Borderline this week to talk about the new album. Watch the interview below:

In a round up of other new releases this week, final positions are Mark Lanegan Band’s Blues Funeral (21).  In at Number 26 is Pet Shop Boys’ Format, a compilation of B-sides and bonus tracks from the Pet Shop Boys circa 1996 – 2009, Goldfrapp’s The Singles (33), and Air’s Le Voyage Dans La Lune completes the new entries in today’s Official Albums Chart Top 40.
