Lady Gaga says she is in “final days” of finishing new album ARTPOP

The Applause star updates fans about progress of her hotly anticipated new album.

Lady Gaga took to Twitter yesterday evening (Wednesday, September 25) to update fans on the progress of her hotly anticipated new album, ARTPOP.

In a series of posts, the Applause star revealed that she is in the “final days” of finishing her third studio album and is currently “needling the last thread" of the record.

Lady Gaga previewed seven new songs from the album at a special iTunes Festival show in London earlier this month. The 60-minute set marked her live comeback after a broken hip forced the singer to abandon her Born This Way Ball World Tour earlier this year.

ARTPOP’s lead single, Applause, peaked at Number 5 on the Official Singles Chart last month after it was rush released following an online leak. To date, Applause has sold more than 170,000 copies in the UK, according to Official Charts Company sales data.

The added media interest surrounding Applause helped push her 2009 smash Bad Romance over the million copies sales barrier, thus becoming one of the UK’s biggest selling single of all-time.

ARTPOP will be released in the UK on November 11.
