Kylie Minogue reunites with Stock, Aitken and Waterman for a surprise Christmas single

Can it top the Official Chart this Christmas?

It's been a quarter of a century but legendary hitmakers Stock, Aitken and Waterman (SAW) have reunited to produce Kylie's new Chris Martin-penned Christmas single, Every Day's Like Christmas.

The last time SAW worked together was on the release of Kylie's Shocked, in 1991, but they are behind some of the singer's most recognisable favourites, including I Should Be So Lucky, Especially For You, Hand On Your Heart and Better The Devil You Know. Have a listen to Every Day's Like Christmas below:

Throughout the 80s and early 90s, the SAW team also churned out massive hits from the like of Bananarama, Jason Donovan and Rick Astley.

As legend has it, the trio were approached by Kylie and her record label to fire up their pop powerhouse and rework Chris Martin's song in their classic 1988 Eurobeat style, just in time for this year's Christmas Number 1 race.

"Only Kylie could have bought us all back together..." says Mike Stock. "It was great to work with the team again."

This new festive offering comes in addition to the Kylie Christmas album, which is out now.

Read about this year's Christmas Number 1 contenders here, and if Every Day's Like Christmas has left you craving for more SAW productions, the team recently released 30-disc CD singles box set, including Especially For You, and lots of other hits and rarities, which you can buy here.

Stunned she is realeasing this rubbish, but iam not suprised, but then i am not a fan and never have been. She fell into pop by mistake and has relied on Madonna cast-offs to get where she is, both musically and creatively for years! She and sidekick creative director William Baker (who is a massive Madonna fan!), constantly pilfering her back catalogue of visuals and designers! Which reminds me, how dare her fans criticse Madonna after she more than lives upto her Queen of cheese title by releasing such crass and desperate material. As for this mix, it was NEVER cool back in the day despite how much her PR team and fans try to persuade you otherwise, SAW produced some of the most generic bland music ever, and its where Minogue came from. I dont hate all of her music, she was cool for about 5 minutes when she released Cant Get You Out Of My Head, it nosedived from there, and this rubbish sinks her even further, cringe! Keep it out of the charts, they are bad enough without throwing this retro piece of rubbish into the mix!

"I am not a fan and never have been".
So you're the sort of person that goes to an article about the new release of someone you don't like and never have, and posts on it. What a sad, miserable, cold person you are. Have a horrid Christmas. I hope you hear this in every shop you walk into,

Shock horror someone disses Kylie! Thought you'd be used to it by now?! Get a life! Not every gay boy likes her pink pound thievery! Especially when it comes pre wrapped in sickly sweet commercialism! And thank god it looks like we WONT be hearing much of this mess, its not even charted! Praise be!

You're a loser and nobody. When you get to her profile in the music industry and sold millions of records the world over then your comments should deserve to be published. Go back under that rock you crawled out from.

Glad to see her version of Only You fell off the chart after 2 weeks. How dare she! Only You is Alison Moyet's song and ONLY Alison Moyet's song. Kylie has no right. She should be grateful she had a career as long as she had with her lack of any real talent and her unfortunate horse like appearance which has only been enhanced by the botched plastic surgery and the sink full of botox.

I'm a huge Kylie fan and I agree with everything up to the word "grateful". I have only listened to Kylie version of "Only You" once in full and found it terrible. From the change of the lyrics to the slower tempo. I just couldn't get into it. Alison Moyet is the queen of that song especially alongside Vince Clarke's synths. When Kylie released it, I must admit I went to Amazon and just re-bought the Yazoo original. It can only be redeemed by having Vince remix Kylie's version and having Alison redo James Corden's lines.

Now "Every Day's Like Christmas" and especially this remix is out of this world amazing. I'm very much in love with it - this is the Kylie I know and love so much.

All of this is just a personal opinion.

Nice to hear Kylie back with S.A.W. but I think they've missed the boat here. The obvious chance of a Christmas no. 1 for her is the duet with James Cordon 'Only You'. What a gorgeous version. I dont think the public will find this Chris Martin song as appealing.
