Kong: Skull Island set to become highest new entry on the UK's DVD chart this week

There's a battle of the beasts on this week's Official Video Chart.

In today's midweek sales flash, OfficialCharts.com can reveal that after three days of sale this week, Disney's Beauty and the Beast is set to retain its Number 1 position on the UK's chart of the bestselling DVDs and Blu-rays of the week.

The live action remake of the 1991 animated tale became the second fastest-selling release of the year last week, shifting an incredible 520,000 units in its first seven days on sale. In the first 72 hours of this week's sales window, the Emma Watson film has sold a further 88,000 copies, some 16,000 ahead of its nearest rival Kong: Skull Island at Number 2.

Horror movie Get Out is also a new entry in today Chart Update Top 5 at Number 5.

New entries and high climbers

The star-studded The Lost City of Z starring Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller is eyeing up the Number 6 slot at today's juncture, while Doctor Who: Series 10 - Part 2 is a fellow new entry at 14.

Finally, a trio of new releases are impacting further down the chart: Air Force One Is Down (18), Origin Wars (23) and LEGO Scooby Doo: Blowout Beach Bash (37).
