According to the latest Official Charts Company sales data, Katy Perry’s new track, Part Of Me, looks set end Gotye’s five week run at the top of the Official Singles Chart this Sunday.

Part Of Me, which is taken from the forthcoming Complete Confection edition of her 2010 album Teenage Dream, is Number 1 in today’s Official Singles Chart Update, while Gotye FT Kimbra’s Somebody That I Used To Know has slipped down to Number 4.

Critics have claimed Part Of Me was inspired by her split with ex-husband Russell Brand, Katy recently told MTV she actually wrote it two years ago. "

It’s funny because everybody is like 'God, it sounds so current', and some people that I work with were like 'You should just say you wrote it a couple of weeks ago',” she said. “I wrote it two years ago when I was writing and recording Teenage Dream, but it didn't feel right on the record."

New Entries

This week’s second highest new entry comes courtesy of Jamaican singer Sean Paul whose new single, She Doesn’t Mind, looks set to debut at Number 2. The track is taken from Paul’s fifth studio album, Tomahawk Technique, which is set for release on April 2.

Labrinth looks set to snag his third Top 5 single this Sunday with new track Last Time. The Hackney-born producer and songwriter, who debuted at Number 2 with Earthquake FT Tinie Tempah, in October of last year, is currently at Number 3, while JLS complete this week’s Official Update Top 5 with their charity single, Proud, which is set to go in at Number 5. All proceeds from the track will be donated to the Sport Relief charity.

Further down the Official Singles Chart Update, Surrey rockers You Me At Six look set to score their first Top 20 hit on Sunday with rollercoaster-inspired new single, The Swarm, currently sitting at 19, while London singer Angel is on course for his first Top 40 hit with Go In Go Hard FT Wretch 32, which is at Number 35.
