“Who doesn't want to spend their Saturday night with Kylie Minogue?” says Kaiser Chiefs frontman of his new job.

The BBC have revealed that Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson is set to replace The Script’s Danny O'Donoghue as a coach on The Voice.

The news comes just a week after pop princess Kylie Minogue was unveiled as the replacement for Jessie J who has also stepped down after two series on the reality TV singing contest.

"Who doesn't want to spend their Saturday night with Kylie Minogue?" said Ricky in an official statement. "I spent last winter yelling at The Voice, and both Sir Tom Jones and Will.I.Am were total superstars.”

Ricky has an impeccable pop pedigree, scoring 10 Official Singles Chart Top 40 hits with the Kaiser Chiefs (including the band’s 2007 Number 1, Ruby) and five Top 40 albums.

Series 3 of The Voice will air on BBC 1 in January of next year.
