Jahmene Douglas has knocked Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines off the top of the Official Albums Chart to score his first ever Number 1 album!

X Factor star Jahmene Douglas will be celebrating this evening after scoring his first ever Number 1 album!

The 22-year-old, who was working in ASDA prior to appearing on ITV’s hit reality TV show, has knocked Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines off the top of the Official Albums Chart with his ‘jahmazing’ debut album, Love Never Fails. The 10-track record features Gospel interpretations of tracks such as David Guetta and Sia’s Titanium, Beyonce’s Halo and a duet of Whitney Houston’s The Greatest Love Of All with his X Factor mentor, Nicole Scherzinger, among others.

Robin Thicke slides one place to Number 2, while Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail (Number 3), Passenger’s All The Little Lights (4) and Rod Stewart’s Time (5) complete this week’s Top 5.

New Entries

In addition to Jahmene DouglasLove Never Fails (Number 1) there are four other new entries on this week’s Official Albums Chart.

Selena Gomez is new in at Number 14 today with her debut solo album, Stars Dance. The former Disney star has previously enjoyed three Top 20 albums in the UK with her band The Scene. The Rolling Stones debut two places behind Selena with their new live album, Hyde Park Live (Number 16), which was recorded during their concerts at London’s Hyde Park on July 6th and 13th.

This week’s new entries are completed by electronic duo F**k Buttons with their third album Slow Focus (36), and Hey! Hello!, the new project from The Wildhearts’ frontman Ginger and New York singer Victoria Liedtke, who enter at Number 37 with their eponymous debut album.
