Internet sensation Harlem Shake is on course to enter the Official Singles Chart Top 5 this Sunday.

According to today’s Official Charts Company sales data, Harlem Shake, by New York DJ Baauer looks set to enter the Official Singles Chart Top 5 this weekend.

Follow in the footsteps of Psy’s Gangnam Style, the track has shot up 16 places since it debuted on the Official Chart Update on Wednesday, and is at Number 6 in today’s sales flash.

However, unlike Gangnam Style, Baauer’s single doesn’t have an official video. Its success is entirely down to the literally hundreds of memes fans have posted on online video sharing site YouTube.

The hilarious homemade clips, which are racking up millions upon millions of views individually, vary from college students going ape to Harlem Shake in their dorm rooms, office workers Harlem Shaking at their desks, and, most recently, the likes of the Norwegian army Harlem Shaking while drilling, and The University of Georgia’s Swimming and Diving teams Harlem Shaking underwater.
