Gotye FT Kimbra’s smash hit Somebody That I Used To Know this week reaches half a million UK sales and makes it a fourth (non-consecutive) week at the top.
Gotye, the Australian-Belgian singer/songwriter who has had runaway success across the globe with Somebody That I Used To Know FT Kimbra, this week becomes the first artist of the year in the UK to cross the 500,000 unit sales mark, ending the week with over 558,000 copies sold since release.
The track is in its tenth week in the chart, and celebrates its fourth non-consecutive week at Number 1, fending off competition from Emeli Sande’s Next To Me which climbs one place to Number 2 today, and Nicki Minaj’s Starships (3) which has sky rocketed up through the Official Singles Chart across the last four weeks, up two places this week to land at Number 3.
