It's not often you see a popstar willing give up their spot at the top of the chart, but that's exactly what George Ezra is asking his fans to do this week.

The singer-songwriter is currently enjoying a second week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with Shotgun, but has urged fans to get behind Baddiel, Skinner and The Lightning Seeds' football anthem Three Lions this week ahead of England's semi-final match against Croatia.

"Now of course that's amazing," he said of Shotgun's success in a video online, "But I think it's time we knock it off the Number 1 spot with Three Lions. We go out and we download and we stream Three Lions, and you know why, because it's coming home. Come on England!"

Three Lions re-entered the Official Singles Chart Top 40 last Friday at Number 24 and is expected to make a big climb this week ahead of England's big match.

Find out where Three Lions finishes at the final whistle – and whether it will be the UK’s Official Number 1 single 22 years after it first topped the charts - will be this Friday on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart with Scott Mills.
