Fun. knock Carly Rae Jepsen off the top of the Official Streaming Char

Fun.'s We Are Young has ended Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen’s reign at the top of the Official Streaming Chart. The US band’s track, We Are Young, which features Janelle Monae, is currently the most listened to track in the UK right now. And, having knocked Rita Ora’s RIP off the top of the Official Singles Chart yesterday, it is also the most purchased track, too.

The Official Streaming Chart is compiled on behalf of the UK music industry by the Official Charts Company and is based on data from services such as Spotify, Deezer, Blinkbox Music, Napster,. It shows not what people are traditionally purchasing, but what the nation is actually listening to via on demand streaming services across the UK.

Jepsen, who has dominated the chart since it was launched two weeks ago, today slips into second place, while Alex Clare’s Too Close is at Number 3. Drive By by US rockers Train climbs two places to Number 3, with Gotye FT Kimbra’s Somebody That I Used To Know completing this week’s Top 5.

New Entries

Paloma Faith, who released her second album, Fall To Grace today, debuts at Number 55 with her latest single Picking Up The Pieces. The Wanted are new in at Number 73 with their Example-penned single Chasing The Sun, Scissor Sisters debut at 86 with Only The Horses and Ben Howard’s Everything enters the Official Streaming Chart at Number 94. Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Otis (Number 99) completes this week’s new entries.
