Finding Dory swimming towards Official Video Chart success

Ellen Degeneres' lovable fish character is up against Matt Damon's Jason Bourne.

Finding Dory is bubbling its way to Number 1 on the Official Video Chart.

Today's Update shows that the Ellen Degeneres-starring animated movie has shifted 167,000 DVDs and Blu-rays since Sunday, a figure that has the sequel to Finding Nemo schooling the rest of the competition.

Finding Nemo, Dory's predecessor, was Number 1 on the Official Video for three consecutive weeks in 2004, with first-week sales of 724,000. The film sold over a million copies in just two weeks.

Matt Damon's return to the Bourne franchise in the simply titled Jason Bourne is also selling well; 130,000 have put that in your baskets this week. There is certainly still time for that movie to become the second Official Video Chart Number 1 for the franchise; The Bourne Supremacy was the last in 2005.

New entries and high climbers

Just outside of the Top 10, a Finding Nemo/Finding Dory box set is new at 13, while The Best of Strictly Come Dancing: Len's Grand Finale is eyeing up the Number 17 position.

Stocking fillers rising up the chart include Captain America: Civil War - up eight places to Number 24 - and The Revenant, which rises seven placings to Number 28.

Finally, there are likely returns to the Top 40 for Dad's Army, which charges from 47 to 34, and animated short Frozen Fever, a rebounding entry at 29, up from last week's 91.
