Ed Sheeran has unveiled world tour dates, including 14 slots on UK and Irish shores.

The Shape of You hitmaker kicks off his UK jaunt on Wednesday 12 April with two nights in Dublin, before visiting UK cities Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Nottingham, Birmingham and London for two nights apiece. Ed's shows in the capital will hail from The O2 Arena on May 1 and 2.

Tickets will be released for general sale on February 2, with some select earlybird tickets available from EdSheeran.com on January 31, as confirmed by Ed on Twitter.

The full list of dates are as follows:

The tour actually begins on March 12 in Turin, Italy, and dates have also been confirmed for Spain, Germany, Sweden and The Netherlands in addition to other countries. Latin American dates will be announced later today.

Ed is expected to spend a third week at Numbers 1 and 2 on the Official Singles Chart with his latest singles Shape of You and Castle on the Hill, the lead releases from his third studio album Divide, out on digital and physical shelves on March 3. View the full tracklisting here.

Ed premiered the video to Castle on the Hill just a few days ago, hoping to boost the song to the Number 1 spot after consecutive weeks at Number 2 behind his other track Shape of You. Lucky Ed being in a chart battle with no-one but himself!
