Quentin Tarantino’s western epic knocks Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables off the top of the Official Video Chart.

Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino’s western blockbuster, has gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart.

Starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and regular Tarantino collaborator Samuel L. Jackson, Django Unchained has ended director Tom Hooper’s one week stand at the top with Les Miserables (Number 2).

Nearly a quarter of million copies (229,000) of the film were purchased in the UK last week, propelling it to the top of the Official DVD and Official Blu-ray format charts, as well as the Official Film On Video genre chart, too.

The Life Of PI holds firm at Number 3 for third consecutive week, while The Impossible (Number 4) and The Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey complete this week’s Top 5.

New Entries

In addition to Django Unchained (Number 1), there are six other new entries on this week’s Official Video Chart.

True Blood – The Complete Fifth Series is new in at Number 7, while ITV’s hit drama Broadchurch (9) also debuts in the Top 10.

Vehicle 19, starring Paul Walker, enters at Number 11, while the Gerard Butler and Jessica Biel romcom Playing For Keeps is at 22.

This week’s new entries are completed by Nothing But The Truth (31) and White Collar Hooligan 2 - England Away is at 37.
