DJ Snake has charged straight to the top of this week's Official Trending Chart with his brand new Justin Bieber collaboration Let Me Love You.

The song was unveiled last Friday (August 5) and features on the producer's debut album Encore, which was released on the same day. Since then, Let Me Love You has taken off and is currently battling Major Lazer's Cold Water for this week's Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.

French DJ Snake previously appeared on the trending Top 20 with his Bipolar Sunshine hookup Middle, which went on to be his first Official Top 10 single.

Other tracks making waves in the UK this week are Chainsmokers' and Halsey's Closer. Released at the end of July, the track is quickly climbing the Official Singles Chart and is on course to crack the Top 20 this Friday (August 12).

Producer Tieks - real name Mark Tieku - also hits the trending Top 20 this week with Sunshine. The song is set to be his breakthrough hit after featuring on the Fiat 500 TV advert, though we reckon this very cute sausage dog-packed music video also has something to do with the track's rise:

Elsewhere, Katy Perry's Olympics theme song Rise is making waves again this week following the kick-off of this year's games in Rio and the recent unveiling of its accompanying music video.

Finally, two songs from the new Suicide Squad film soundtrack land in this week's trending Top 20 after the movie's release last week (August 5). The first is Lil Wayne's Sucker For Pain, the other is Skrillex and Rick Ross' Purple Lamborghini. Lil Wayne's track is on course to become his 19th Top 40 on the Official Singles Chart this week, while Purple Lamborghini has entered the Top 100 at 68.

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart is a brand new chart launched for 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has already highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 singles Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza and Drake's One Dance.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
