Marvel's latest superhero epic Deadpool is holding firm at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart.

As of today's midweek update, the Ryan Reynolds movie has shifted 60,000 copies, outselling Dad's Army at Number 2 by two copies to one.

The film is the third fast-selling DVD/Blu-Ray release so 2016 so far, shifting just shy of 400,000 copies last week to debut at Number 1. The only titles to have sold more units in their first week are Spectre and the fastest seller of the year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Last week's Top 5 remains much the same with the exception of a new entry at Number 4. Dad's Army sticks at 2, former chart topper The Revenant is static at 3, Alvin and the Chipmunks - The Road Chip is new at 4 and Star Wars hops down a rung at 5.

New entries and high climbers

Dame Maggie Smith's The Lady in the Van looks to return to the Top 10, up seven places to 10 and Matt Damon's The Martian rises three spots to 12. Natalie Dormer supernatural horror The Forest is a new entry at 15 and The Hollow Crown - The Wars of the Roses looks to start at 17.

Bryan Cranston and Helen Mirren's Trumbo is the final new entry at 19, and Independence Day is on course to vault 10 places to 21 in the run-up to the sequel's cinematic release tomorrow.

Finally, a slew of movies are rebounding up the chart: Jurassic World is up four places to 22 and Alice in Wonderland shoots three places to 26. The Conjuring jumps 26 places to 34 and Paw Patrol ascends from 46 to 36.
