Deadpool accelerates towards a third week at Official Video Chart Number 1

The superhuman mercenary won't let up easily from the top spot.

Deadpool has enjoyed two weeks at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart, and it looks like another may soon be in the bag. 

Despite of a slew of new entries impacting this week's Top 10, the Ryan Reynolds antihero film is leading at the midweek stage, with 27,000 units shifted as of today's Official Video Chart Update.

The Marvel movie is the third fastest-selling DVD/Blu-Ray release of the year so far, shifting over 500,000 copies in just two weeks. This week, it outsells the rest of the Top 3 combined.

Rebel Wilson romcom How To Be Single is at 2, with fellow new entry Triple 9 starring Casey Affleck at 3. Pride & Prejudice & Zombies is another newbie set for the Top 5 at Number 4, and The Revenant slips two spots to Number 5.

New entries and high climbers

Independence Day continues its climb up the chart following the cinematic release of its sequel 20 years in the making - Independence Day: Resurgence. The original is up five places to 12 at the halfway point this week.

Game of Thrones' Complete Fifth Season rises six places to 16 following the televised transmission of the Season 6 finale, and there is a new entry at 22 - sci-fi epic Kill Command. Paw Patrol is another high riser, up seven ranks to Number 26.

The Game of Thrones franchise is back again, this time with the elevation of the Complete Seasons 1-5 from 51 to 27. Tilda Swinton film A Bigger Splash is new at 28 while Ghostbusters/Ghostbusters 2's packaged release floats from 45 to 31.

Finally, Warsaw 1944 is a new addition to the Top 40 at 33, and Now You See Me vaults 53 places to 37.
