Dappy‘s Rockstar FT Brian May could be on course to knock Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know FT Kimbra off the top of the Official Singles Chart this Sunday according to today’s Official Chart Update.

This morning’s Official Charts Company sales data puts the N Dubz star and the Queen guitarist just a few thousand copies behind Gotye and New Zealand singer/songwriter Kimbra, who returned to Number 1 on Sunday for a second non-consecutive week at the Official Singles Chart summit. If Dappy can overtake Gotye before this week is over, it will give the London-born singer his second Official Number 1 single.

Emeli Sande, who won the Critics’ Choice Award at last week’s BRITs, slips one place to Number 3 with Next To Me, while Flo Rida’s Wild Ones FT Sia holds steady at Number 4. Former Number 1, DJ Fresh FT Rita Ora’s Hot Right Now, completes this week’s Official Update Top 5.

New entries

The second highest new entry on this week’s Official Update is Twenty Seven Million (Number 8) by Brighton-based Christian worship leader Matt Redman and Manchester hip-hop outfit LZ7. Twenty Seven Million is a charity single to raise funds and awareness for The A21 Campaign – a charity working with the victims of human trafficking.

Philadelphia hip-hop duo Chiddy Bang look set to score their second Top 20 single with Ray Charles (13), while 17-year-old French electropop producer, Madeon (real name Hugo Leclercq) is on course to land his debut Top 40 single with Icarus (15).

Arctic Monkeys’ latest track, R U Mine, is new in at Number 22, while Drumsound and Bassline’s reworking of Utah SaintsWhat Can You Do For Me?, debuts at 23. The original version of the track reached Number 10 in September 1991.

This week’s final Official Update new entry is from 19-year-old former friend of Barney The Friendly Dinosaur, Demi Lovato with Skyscraper (26). If Skyscraper manages to hold its position, it will give Lovato her highest charting single to date and third Top 40 hit.
