Damien Rice announces new album My Favourite Faded Fantasy

Damien Rice has announced details of his first album in eight years.

Singer-songwriter Damien Rice has announced details of his new album and unveiled a new song.

My Favourite Faded Fantasy will be released on November 11 via Atlantic Records.

The collection was helmed by acclaimed produced Rick Rubin (Adele, Kanye West, Lana Del Rey) and follows 2006’s 9 album, which reached Number 4 on the chart and is certified platinum in the UK.

“Sometimes you have to step away from what you love in order to learn how to love it again,” he said in a press release, adding: “For some reason I just had a feeling that I would feel comfortable being open and being me and being vulnerable with Rick.”

The record’s 10 songs include a number of songs Damien has performed at shows this year, including The Greatest Bastard, The Box and the title track, which can be heard below:

The Irish singer rose to fame with 2002’s O album, which sold over two million copies worldwide and includes the UK Top 40 singles Cannonball and The Blower’s Daughter.
