Craig David has dropped a huge announcement this #NewMusicFriday.
The garage star's new single Heartline is available now, and he's revealed that his new album will be out early next year. That's the kind of cherry on top that we like!
Produced by Jonas Blue, Craig's new single is the first song from his upcoming seventh studio album The Time Is Now, released on January 26, 2018. It has been confirmed that several exciting collaborations will be included, including Bastille, JP Cooper, and Kaytranada who also teamed up with Craig for Got It Good from his last album Following My Intuition.
Discussing his next project, Craig has said in a statement: "If the last few years have taught me anything, it’s that life can change in a moment and you’ve gotta make the most it! By doing the simple things that enrich my heart, I've found the same magic that got me into making music as a kid.
"The only thing that matters NOW... making great music for you. This album is me going back to those days of simple story telling and waving the flag for UK R&B."
As well as dropping a new single and confirming his next album is incoming, Craig has also shared news of three new live shows, taking place in London, Manchester and Birmingham this November. Dates are as follows:
3rd November – O2 Academy Brixton
4th November – The Warehouse Project, Manchester
5th November – O2 Academy Birmingham
The last few years have been a whirlwind comeback for Craig. His single When The Bassline Drops was a surprise success, hitting the Top 10 of the Official Singles Chart. It spearheaded a massive revival in popularity, leading to Following My Intuition becoming Craig's well-deserved second UK Number 1 album in September 2016. This year, Craig performed at a number of festivals and headline arena shows.
