Cover Drive cruising towards first Official Number 1

Barbadian 4-piece Cover Drive are heading towards their first Official Number 1 single this weekend with new release Twilight. Their second single taken from forthcoming debut album Bajan Style, is the follow up to debut Top 10 single Lick Ya Down which reached Number 9 in 2011.

The band today lead the Official Singles Chart race, ahead of last week’s chart topper, Jessie J’s Domino (2), by 16,000 copies.

Elsewhere, new release Wild Ones from Flo Rida FT Sia (5), gives the US rapper no less than two entries in today’s Official Chart Update Top 10, as previous Number 1 Good Feeling continues to hover in seventh place.

New Top 10 entries today are completed by Lana Del Rey’s Born To Die (10). Lana joins Flo Rida in claiming multiple entries in the Top 40, with her previous hit Video Games standing firm at Number 20.

Bristol DJ/Producer Redlight is set to be this week’s fourth new entry in the Official Singles Chart Top 40 with Get Out Of My Head (16). The old school house track features the vocal talents of fellow Bristolian and former X Factor contestant, Nicole Jackson, who made it to the judge’s houses stage in 2009 before being passed over for Rachel Adedeji.

On the day that the late Etta James would have celebrated her 74th birthday, the soul singer who sadly passed away last week advances nine places to Number 30 with At Last.
