Earlier this year, Collabro joined the likes of opera singer Paul Potts, dance troupe Diversity and wonder dog Pudsey in the Britain’s Got Talent winners’ hall of fame.

Less than three months after their victory, the musical theatre boyband have arrived with their debut album Stars; a collection of classic movie song covers with a sprinkling of modern pop tracks, each reworked in their inimitable style.

We caught up with Michael, Richard, Jamie, Matt and Thomas to find out how they’re coping with their newfound fame.

Hello Collabro! Life must have changed quite a lot since you won Britain’s Got Talent…

“Seven months ago we didn't know each other and just 3 months ago we were still in our day jobs, so our lives have been flipped upside down and now we have an album out on an amazing record label! We are so grateful for the whole experience and to our fans for getting us here.”

You're going on tour with BGT runner-up Lucy Kay, have you kept in touch with anyone else from the show?

“John Clegg has been in touch along with Patsy May, wishing us the best of luck with the album which is so nice of them. We know they are doing well themselves, which is great to hear.”

What is the best part about your new job?

“We absolutely love the music. Musical theatre tells a story through song and we love to sing it. We feel we have been able to open younger generations to this genre of music and that is fantastic!”

You have a very passionate fan base called Collaborators…

“Our fans are absolutely brilliant! It's the collaborators who got us here and we love them. We love meeting them and getting to personally say thank you to the people who got us to this position. Receiving such lovely message and fan art is such a buzz and it makes the long days completely worth it.”

You’ve covered John Legend’s All Of Me on your debut album; are there any other current chart songs you’d like to put the Collabro spin on?

“We'd love to put a collabro twist on Ella hendersons Ghost as it's such an amazing song and we're always up for a challenge.”

What’s next for Collabro?

“Obviously the tour is a huge opportunity to get our music out to the masses. We have a 31 date tour starting in January 2015 and tickets are selling fast so please get them as we'd love to see as many people as possible there. Prior to that, we have the royal variety performance which is such a huge honour that we can't wait for.”

Collabro's debut album Stars is out now through Syco.
