Clean Bandit's Rockabye could become the band's longest reigning Number 1 single

Rae Sremmurd and one Mariah Carey could stop a fifth week at the top for Clean Bandit.

It looks like Clean Bandit won't be saying Rockabye to the Number 1 position on the Official Singles Chart just yet.

The Sean Paul and Anne-Marie featured track is eyeing a fifth week at Number 1, with it leading the way on both the sales and streams front as of today's update. Rae Sremmurd's Black Beatles holds at Number 2, a possible third week in the runner-up slot for the American duo.

Plus The Weeknd’s Starboy and James Arthur’s Say You Won’t Let Go hold at 3 and 4 midweek, and Neiked’s Sexual is heading for a new peak inside the Top 5 (5).

New entries and high climbers

Rag'n'Bone Man's Human could be hitting the Top 10 for the first time this Friday (December 9), currently up five places to Number 6, while rocketing 20 places to Number 9 at the halfway point is Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You. Should Mariah hold on, it will mark the first time since 2007 that her festive gem has returned to the UK Top 10.

More popular Christmas songs are making their annual returns to the Top 40 this week. The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl's Fairytale of New York catapults from Number 66 to Number 18, Wham's Last Christmas surges 56 places to Number 19, Shakin' Stevens' Merry Christmas Everyone propels from Number 93 to 29, and Wizzard's I Wish It Could Christmas Everyday is at Number 39.

Finally, three tracks could make their Top 40 debuts this week, the first of which is Charli XCX's After The Afterparty, up 11 to Number 30. Zara Larsson's I Would Like climbs twenty places to 34 after yesterday’s X Factor performance, and Sigala and Digital Farm Animals' Only One is new at 40.

Imagine if Mariah Carey' "All I Want For Christmas is you " goes all the way to Number 1 this year after peaking at Number 2 back in 1994. Imagine the records it will break if it can go ALL the way. Wow x
