5SOS go head-to-head with Ella Henderson in this week’s race to Number 1. But who will finish on top?

5 Seconds Of Summer are going head-to-head with reigning chart queen Ella Henderson in the race to this week’s Official Number 1 single.

The Aussie boyband’s new track, Don’t Stop, is currently leading the pack on today’s Official Singles Chart Update, while Ella slides into second place with her debut release, Ghost, which topped the chart on Sunday.

5SOS currently have a lead of 22,000 copies over Ella at this midway stage, however the 18-year-old’s sales momentum increased over night, so this chart race could go down to the wire. To find out who comes out on top, tune into the Official Chart with Jameela Jamil on Radio 1 this Sunday from 4pm and log on to www.officialcharts.com for the full Top 100 from 7pm.

Meanwhile, Bristol singer/songwriter George Ezra is on track for his highest charting single to date with Budapest (Number 3), while Ed Sheeran drops two places to Number 4 with Sing. This week’s Top 5 is completed by Gorgon City with Here For You FT Laura Welsh (5). It is set to become the London-based duo’s second Top 5 hit, following Ready For Your Love FT MNEK, which peaked at Number 4 back in January of this year.

New Entries and High Climbers

In addition to 5 Seconds Of Summer’s Don’t Stop (Number 1), George Ezra’s Budapest (3) and Gorgon City’s Here For You (5), there are three other new entries on this week’s Official Singles Chart Update, and one re-entry.

Former Disney princess Demi Lovato is on track for her fifth Top 40 hit this weekend with new single Neon Lights (Number 11), while One by Ed Sheeran climbs 21 places to re-enter the midweek Top 40 at 26.

Around Town, the second single to be culled from The Kooks’ fourth studio album, is at Number 32 on today’s Update, while Peace are currently at Number 40 with new single Money.

The Official Singles Chart Update Top 40 is as follows. The Official Singles Chart Top 100 will be posted in full, here, on Sunday at 7pm.
