Britney back on top with a little help from Will.I.Am

Britney Spears is back on top of the Official Singles Chart as her Will.I.Am collaboration Scream And Shout gives the singer her first Number 1 single since 2004.
“It’s Britney, b*tch!” says the vocals, and today pop megastar Britney Spears will be wearing a knowing smile to match, as Scream & Shout becomes the singer’s sixth UK Number 1, putting the singer back on top with her first chart topper since 2004’s Everytime.
Written by Will.I.Am, Scream And Shout sees the US pair collaborate on this slice of club-friendly electro pop that entered the chart at Number 2 upon its release five weeks ago.
Having not dropped out of the Top 3 since, the track now topples James Arthur’s Impossible hitting the top spot with sales of more than 400,000 since release.
"I'm ecstatic that Scream And Shout has been so well received in the UK," Britney tells OfficialCharts.com. "Will.I.Am is one of my favorite people to collaborate with and I'm just so happy that people really love the song."
"I am proud and honoured to still have huge success at this stage of my career..." adds Will.I.Am. "I'm so happy I wanna scream and shout."
The duo finish the race nearly 13,000 copies ahead of Taylor Swift’s I Knew You Were Trouble (Number 2).

There are three new entries this week, at Number 6 is David Bowie’s Where Are We Now?, Vato Gonzalez Vs Lethal Bizzle’s Not A Saint (20), and Bon Jovi return to the Top 40 with Because We Can (38).
