Bombay Bicycle Club have raced to the top of the Official Albums Chart, while Within Temptation and Maximo Park also debut in the Top 10.

Congratulations to Bombay Bicycle Club on scoring their first ever Number 1 album today.

The London-based indie rockers’ fourth full-length, So Long, See You Tomorrow, has gone straight in at the top of the UK’s Official Albums Chart, outselling their closest rival, Avicii’s True (Number 2 today) by more than 6,000 copies.

Bombay Bicycle Club, who feature Jamie MacColl, the nephew of late chart legend Kirsty MacColl, on guitar already have two Top 10 albums to their name: 2010’s Flaws reached Number 8, while 2011’s A Different Kind Of Fix peaked at 6.

Ellie Goulding’s former Number 1 album, Halcyon, slides one place to Number 3 today, while London Grammar climb three places to Number 4 with their debut album, If You Wait. This week’s Top 5 is completed by Beyonce’s self-titled fifth album (5).

New Entries

In addition to Bombay Bicycle Club‘s So Long, See You Tomorrow, there are seven other new entries on this week’s Official Albums Chart.

Within Temptation claim their highest charting UK album to date with Hydra. The Dutch symphonic metallers, who previously peaked at Number 23 with The Unforgiving in 2011, are new in at Number 6 today.

“This is our highest chart entry in the UK so far,” frontwoman Sharon den Adel tells OfficialCharts.com. “The reactions are overwhelming. We just want to thank our fans for continuing to champion us so strongly! We really can't wait to come over and play for everyone in April, and when we play Wembley Arena on that tour, it'll also be our biggest UK show yet too!”

Maximo Park debut one place behind them with their latest offering, Too Much Information (7).  It is the Newcastle-based band’s third Top 10 album to date. Broken Bells, who feature Gnarls Barkley’s Danger Mouse and The ShinsJames Mercer, enter at 12 with After The Disco, while folk singer Seth Lakeman is new in at 20 with Word Of Mouth.

Meanwhile, Tina Turner’s new Best Of collection, Love Songs, debuts at 32, and Andre Rieu & The Johann Strauss Orchestra’s Love Letters enters at 35. And finally, after a seven year hiatus, Suzanne Vega returns to the Official Albums Chart with her eighth album, Tales From The Realm Of The Queen Of Pentacles (37).
