Big Hero 6 soars to Number 1 on Official DVD and Blu-ray Chart

Big Hero 6 has entered at Number 1 on this week’s Official Video Chart.

The Disney animated superhero comedy lands straight in at the top with sales just shy of 190,000, making it one of the fastest-selling titles of the year. Only Paddington, The Huger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and The Hobbit: Battle Of The Five Armies have sold more in their opening sales week this year.

Meanwhile, last week’s best-seller Into The Woods slips to Number 2, and The Theory Of Everything is at 3.

This week’s second-highest new entry is War War I drama Testament Of Youth, which lands at Number 5, and Reece Witherspoon’s drama Wild debuts at Number 9.

Further down this week’s Top 100, Disney classic The Lion King rebounds from 38 to 18, and in anticipation of upcoming movie Jurassic World, the Jurassic Park Trilogy boxset jumps 13 places to Number 36.

New releases battling for Number 1 on this week’s Official Video Chart are the Oscar-winning American Sniper, which stars Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller, while the popular US film Whiplash is also released.
