Avatar, the world's highest grossing movie of all time, smashes the record for Blu-Ray sales within days of its Blu-Ray/DVD release, the Official Charts Company announces today.
In just two day, the James Cameron directed epic, set on the alien planet of Pandora, has sold 41 % more Blu-Ray copies than the previous fastest-selling Blu-Ray title, superhero film The Dark Knight (2008), sold in its first week.
The release went to retail on Sunday 25th April.
With DVD and Blu-Ray sales combined, Avatar has already confirmed its status as the fastest-selling video release of the year so far and looks set to secure a place in the all-time Top 5 fastest-selling video releases by the end of the week.
