Ariana Grande's new album Sweetener features a song that was originally demoed by Beyoncé.

R.E.M. was one of the first songs teased by the Floridian singer during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in May, and now comparisons have been made to the track and a demo from Queen Bey.

Beyoncé's unreleased song Wake Up featuring Pharrell leaked onto the internet last year, with Arianators noticing it resembled R.E.M., which Ari sang a section of during a video interview with ELLE. Ariana also worked on R.E.M with Pharrell, fuelling speculation further.

Now Ariana has personally addressed the situation on her Twitter account.

When a fan asked whether they were the same song, Ari replied: "mmhmmm ! well kind of , it’s an entirely new song now but the hook was so dreamy ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️ it had to find a home i think it’ll be one of your favs"
