‘Watch us wreck the mic, Watch us wreck the mic, Psyche!’

They’ve got so many lyrics, they’re normally frightened to use them, but Ant and Dec look set to storm the Official Singles Chart this Sunday with a track that’s nearly 20 years old.

TV presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly performed their 1994 hit, Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble, live on their Saturday Night Takeaway show on ITV on Saturday (March 23). The pair were goaded into the performance after being joined in the studio by Blue, Atomic Kitten and 5ive, who have each reformed for ITV’s The Big Reunion show.

Ant and Dec, who originally found fame in the late ‘80s in BBC drama Byker Grove, transformed into their alter egos, PJ and Duncan AKA, for a rendition of their third single and first Top 10 hit, Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble, which originally peaked at Number 9 in the Official Singles Chart 19 years ago.

Following the show, thousands of copies of the track were downloaded, and it now looks like it could potentially knock The Saturdays FT Sean Paul’s What About Us? off the top of the Official Singles Chart next Sunday. Indeed, as the song goes, ‘Your Father, Your Mother, Your Sister, And Your Brother,' all appear to be 'AKA lovers.’

Tune into Radio 1’s Official Chart Update with Scott Mills and Jameela Jamil on Wednesday (March 27) between 3.30 – 4pm for the Official Singles Chart midweek update Top 40 and follow @officialcharts on Twitter and Facebook to find out if Ant and Dec can pull it off!

While Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble is Ant and Dec’s most well-known single, their biggest hit was actually the official anthem for the 2002 World Cup, We’re On The Ball, which peaked at Number 3. You can see Ant and Dec's full chart history, here.
