Adele is recovering in hospital in the Boston after undergoing throat surgery.
According to a spokesperson for Massachusetts General Hospital, the 23-year-old BRIT Award winning singer had laser microsurgery on her vocal cords to stop bleeding from a benign polyp.
Dr Steven Zeitels, director of the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Voice Centre, said that Adele is expected to make a full recovery.
In September, the singer announced that she was cancelling all of her remaining tour dates, including six UK shows, due to her throat problems.
“Please forgive me, I hate cancelling things,” she wrote in an official statement at the time.
