A Dog's Purpose is barking its way to Number 1 on the UK's DVD chart

Seven new entries are expected to impact this week's chart. Take a look at the midweek standings.

There's a very good boy over on the Official Video Chart this week.

Leading the pack on the UK's official tally of DVD and Blu-ray sales is A Dog's Purpose, the comedy drama starring Dennis Quaid, Juliet Rylance and Josh Gad. Gad voices the movie's main character originally named Toby, a puppy whose spirit is reincarnated five different times throughout the course of five decades.

With a lead of nearly 8,000 copies at today's midweek Chart Update stage, the canine movie is expected to hold on the pole position by Sunday, when the Official Video Chart Top 100 is revealed at 5:45pm.

Looking to today's Top 5 at the halfway point of the week, The Boss Baby holds firm at Number 2, former chart topper Sing catapults nine places to Number 3, Batman and Harley Quinn are a new entry at 4, and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them also vaults nine to Number 5.

New entries and high climbers

There's a second Batman-related new entry eyeing a Top 10 entry this week. Gotham: The Complete Third Season is new at Number 7, which could become the first Top 10 appearance for the series here on the UK charts.

Noomi Rapace and Orlando Bloom star in Unlocked, an action movie with potential to debut at Number 12 this week, while The Zookeeper's Wife starring Jessica Chastain is roaring to Number 15. The final season of Black Sails also has Top 20 potential and sits at Number 19 today.

Bridget Jones's Baby has rocketed 37 positions to Number 34 in today's sales flash, and finally, psychological thriller Voice From The Stone starring Emelia Clarke is new at Number 36.
