5 Seconds Of Summer heading for first UK Number 1 album with Sounds Good Feels Good

Plus an all-new Update Top 5.

5 Seconds Of Summer are on course to score their first Official Albums Chart Number 1 on Friday with second studio album Sounds Good Feels Good.

The album – which includes Top 20 single She’s Kinda Hot – follows 5SOS’ self-titled debut, which peaked at Number 2 upon its release in 2014, and live album LiveSOS, which peaked at Number 31.

Meanwhile, Bryan Adams is on course to score his highest UK charting album in almost 20 years with Get Up (2), while Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott are set for a second Top 5 with Wisdom, Laughter and Lines (3).

Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli is heading for his tenth UK Top 10 album this week with Cinema (4), while Irish crooner Daniel O’Donnell is set for a 16th with The Hank Williams Songbook (5).

New entries

US musician Joanna Newsom is on course to score her highest charting UK album to date this week with Divers (7), while Carrie Underwood is set for a second Top 20 with Storyteller (10).

UK rockers Killing Joke are heading for a sixth Top 40 with their fifteenth studio album Pylon (11), trailed by Adele’s 21, which starts at Number 13 in today’s Update following the release of new single Hello on Friday. The singer-songwriter’s debut LP 19 also re-enters today’s Official Albums Chart Update, at 28.

Depeche Mode vocalist Dave Gahan teams up with production duo Soulsavers for Angels & Ghosts, which lands at 22 today, Thomas Newman’s Spectre – OST starts at 23.

Scottish post-rock band Mogwai are on course for a seventh Top 40 album with Central Belters (27), while Tracey Thorn is heading for a new Official Chart peak with new compilation Solo: Songs & Collaborations 1982- 2015 (29).

Half Moon Run’s Sun Leads Me On (33), Walter Trout’s Battle Scars (36) and Ginger Wildheart’s Year Of The Fanclub (39) are all also set to make their Top 40 debuts this week.

Finally, current fastest-selling album of the year so far, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ Chasing Yesterday, re-enters the Update Top 40 at 34 today.
